Tutorial: Unit Advantages

The main strategy in game is to effectively utilize the unit advantages:
- Tanks will beat Infantry
- Infantry will beat Bazookas
- Bazookas will beat Tanks

This means that you should always try engage with units that have the advantage. When attacking the enemy base and it's not always possible since multiple enemy units are always present. You should recon the area to see if any direction is better than others

Start by taking out one unit of Tanks before enemy notices you.
Engage enemy Bazookas with Infantry while trying to keep the Tanks safe
Finalize enemy units by engaging with the healthiest units and flanking with the rest
If all else fails, you will get some reinforcements that you can use to finalize the enemy

Tutorial: Basic Controls

The basic controls are very simple: select a unit from the badge and and click on a tile to move the unit there. Units will automatically attack enemies in range so there is no need to do anything. What you choose and plan is the timing and direction of engagements.

There be Tanks!

Another few months has passed but now we have Tanks! It's obviously a continuation of the previous two games Infantry Invasion and Tactical Invasion, but with a new perspective. And it's not just "I added Tanks", but this time it plays out more like Rock-Paper-Scissors (but no -Lizard-Spock ;).

Infantry Invasion started with use of cover, i.e. you tried to position soldier in places where they have cover to use. Tactical Invasion played more with flanking, i.e. trying to outflank the enemy by attacking from two directions simultaneously. In Tank Invasion will have to use right units at the right time and place.

The units follow classical Rock-Paper-Scissors style mechanic:

  • Tanks will beat Infantry
  • Infantry will beat Bazookas
  • Bazookas will beat Tanks
So the revolves around trying to attack with the units that have advantage. It's easiest if you can spot individual enemy units and attack with the right units. With more enemy units you will have to try engage with minimal exposure and try to pick them one-by-one.

As usual, Android ready now, Apple pending approval.
